Selinda Walking Trail Information

Selinda Walking Trails has two trails camps in two contrasting areas. Mokoba Camp is located on the fringes of an enormous open plain, close to the Kwando waterways. This open savannah area is usually teeming with wildlife of all shapes and sizes. Then there is Tshwene Camp which is located to the west within a more forested area in a completely contrasting location. Spending a night at each camp gives guests the most wonderful walking safari experience.

Each camp has three tents that are raised off the ground by about two metres, accommodating a maximum of six people on a trail at any one time. One of the highlights of the Trail is that the guests are with their own private guide for the duration of the Trail.

The walks are under the guidance of an armed and licensed guide. The camp's hostess handles all the camp chores with our camp staff.

The Selinda is characterised by its game-rich floodplains which are host to a variety of antelope, zebra, giraffe, cheetah, wild dog, lion and plenty of elephant. Game drives are fruitful with a variety of antelope, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe and buffalo to be seen. Predator viewing is exceptional including the hippo-killing lions of Selinda, leopard, wild dog and cheetah.

Selinda Walking Safari Itinerary

On offer are two night walking safaris which can host a maximum of six trailists at a time. Typically, guests undertaking a Selinda Walking Trail often start at of one of the reserve's permanent camps (Selinda or Zibadianja) and then they walk to either Mokoba or Tshwene Trails camps. They usually spend one night at each camp - and walk between the camps, but some groups may spend two nights at one camp and then walk throughout that area. Some guests fly out after their two nights - while others end at either Selinda or Zibalianja for their final night.
